ATHLETICS
Basketball
I started playing basketball when I was about 5 years old. My dad played for Yale, and passed down his love for the game to my brother and me. My family has had tickets to Lakers games since before I was born, and like many kids growing up in Los Angeles, Kobe was my idol. As a contributing varsity player on an elite high school team for three years and a team captain my senior year, I learned a lot about perseverance, dedication, and camaraderie from the game. During my short time at WashU, I was a member of the club basketball team.
Track & Field
I was always fast as a kid, and my junior year of high school, I decided to try my hand at track. Sprints came very naturally to me, and in my two years I found a love for track, specifically the 100 and 200 meter sprints. I wish I’d begun earlier, because despite my limited experience, I was able to finish 2nd in my league in the 200 meters as a senior, and I finished high school with some of the best times in my school’s history.
